Lisa Blevins, PhD • co-founder

Dr. Blevins is a licensed clinical psychologist, certified hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner and has been working in the field for over 25 years. While she specializes in working with persons experiencing severe mental illness and has been the Clinical Director of a therapeutic day program for the past 15 years, in private practice she has developed an emphasis in working with adults experiencing difficult life transitions, whether it be going off to college, developing an increased level of independence, dealing with relationship difficulties and losses, facing the "empty nest", and defining one's true self and life's path separate from others.   She also has years of experience working with people with trauma, eating disorders and personality disorders. Her approach is humanistic and person-centered, focused on building a trusting relationship, while at the same time assessing which skills are most beneficial to impart and practice with her clients. Symptom management techniques, DBT, NLP and Hypnotherapy are used with clients so that they can overcome difficult obstacles or habits quickly and enhance the quality of their lives. Some examples include negative thought patterns, weight and pain management, self defeating behaviors, intimacy issues and health concerns.
